How to vote
The 2026 Town of LaSalle municipal election
This page is provided by the Ivana White campaign to help LaSalle residents vote. It is not an official Town of LaSalle page. For official election information, visit lasalle.ca or call the Town of LaSalle Elections Office at 519-969-7770 ext. 1263.
When you can vote
Online voting opens October 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM and closes October 26, 2026 at 8:00 PM. Election day is Monday, October 26, 2026.
How voting works this election
LaSalle is using online voting for the 2026 municipal and school board election. You can vote from a phone, a tablet or a computer, at any time during the voting period.
If you would rather not vote online, or you need help doing it, call the Town of LaSalle Elections Office at 519-969-7770 ext. 1263 or toll free at 1-833-946-3061. They will tell you what assistance is available.
Who can vote
You are eligible to vote in LaSalle if you are all of the following:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years old
- a resident of the Town of LaSalle, or a non-resident who — or whose spouse — owns or rents property in the Town of LaSalle
- not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act or otherwise by law
These conditions are quoted from the Town’s own voter information page. If you are not sure whether you qualify, the Elections Office will tell you.
Step by step
Make sure you are on the voters’ list
From Tuesday, September 1, 2026 until voting closes at 8:00 PM on Monday, October 26, you can add yourself to the voters’ list or correct your information — online, or in person at the LaSalle Civic Centre. If you have moved, changed your name, or have never voted here before, do this first.
Watch for your voting information from the Town
The Town sends electors what they need in order to vote online. Watch your mail through the first half of October, and keep it somewhere safe — you will need it. The Town is the only source for these details, so check lasalle.ca or call the Elections Office rather than relying on anything you read elsewhere, including this page.
Vote online between October 16 and October 26
Voting opens Friday, October 16 at 10:00 AM and closes Monday, October 26 at 8:00 PM. You can vote at any time in between, from a phone, a tablet or a computer. Do not leave it until the final evening.
Choose up to five councillors
You will be asked to vote for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor and School Board Trustee. For Councillor you may choose up to five names, and there are fifteen candidates on the ballot. Marking fewer than five is allowed — but every name you leave blank is a vote you have chosen not to use.
You can vote for up to five councillors
LaSalle elects five councillors at large. There are no wards, so every resident votes for the same list of candidates, and you may mark up to five councillors on your ballot.
Most voters mark fewer names than they are allowed to. Every name you leave blank is a vote you have given away.
